Dr. Kristen Vanderluit was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia before attending Queen’s University in Kingston for her undergraduate degree.
She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, Massachusetts. NECO gave her the opportunity to receive extensive clinical training in ocular diseases (glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, etc.), primary eye care, pediatric eye care, specialty contact lenses fittings, and dry eye disease.
Dr. Vanderluit believes that routine eye exams are an important part of preventative health care. This includes early detection of nearsightedness in children by implementing myopia management. She is certified to prescribe both Paragon CRT® lenses and MiSight® 1 day soft contact lenses.
Dr. Vanderluit is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) with the ability to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPAs). She is also licensed by the Ontario College of Optometrists and a member of both the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO).
